Shannen Doherty will never forget that call.

The Beverly Hills, 90210 alum had just undergone a PET scan after experiencing back pain. Her photographer husband Kurt Iswarienko was away on a photoshoot. So, she was alone when her doctor Lawrence Piro revealed her breast cancer had returned.

As detailed in a new feature for Elle, Doherty began pacing and crying. She started researching experimental breast cancer trials in Europe and reflecting on her life.

“I was like, ‘Okay, do I have good karma? Do I have bad karma? Why would I have bad karma?'” the 49-year-old actress told the magazine during a June interview, later deciding on the good. “I started taking stock of my life and the things I’d done, and the things I hadn’t done. How I was with people.”

A few weeks later, in February 2019, Doherty and her husband invited their closest friends to a

COMSTOCK TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — As more schools look to return to in-person instruction, health officials in Kalamazoo County are telling school leaders a solid mitigation plan and sticking to that plan is the key to preventing a COVID-19 outbreak.

The Comstock Public Schools Board of Education heard a presentation from leaders at the Kalamazoo County Department of Health and Community Services Monday night.

Health Director Jim Rutherford said there are several smaller districts in the county that have been in school for several weeks and are doing quite well. The county has only seen seven positive cases in four schools since school started in August. None of those cases have resulted in community spread due to mitigation efforts in the schools.

“We talk a lot about mitigation,” Rutherford told the board. “What I always try to compare this to is driving a car. When we talk about what can

Trump gives update on coronavirus testing after bombshell report on taxes

September 28, 2020

| Health

Washington — President Trump announced the federal government is sending 150 million rapid care tests to governors to distribute as they deem fit. Governors are encouraged to use them to screen at schools and in high-risk settings, the president said in a Rose Garden event.

But the president had already announced that would be happening in August, before accepting the nomination at the Republican National Convention.

The update on the nation’s coronavirus testing strategy comes one day after a bombshell report from the New York Times provided an in-depth look at the president’s finances and revealed that he only paid $750 in federal income taxes in 2017.

So far, the country has run 111 million tests, according to coronavirus testing czar Admiral Brett Giroir. Giroir demonstrated a self-swab test from the White House Rose Garden, in an effort to show how simple the test can be.

“There’s never been anything
