(Reuters) – Twitter on Sunday flagged a tweet by Donald Trump in which the U.S. President claimed he was immune to the coronavirus, saying it violated the social media platform’s rules about misleading information related to COVID-19.

“A total and complete sign off from White House Doctors yesterday. That means I can’t get it (immune), and can’t give it. Very nice to know,” Trump said in the tweet.

The post was flagged by Twitter with a disclaimer.

“This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about spreading misleading and potentially harmful information related to COVID-19,” Twitter’s disclaimer read, adding that it had determined that it may be in the public’s interest for the tweet to remain accessible.

A Twitter spokeswoman told Reuters that the tweet made “misleading health claims” about COVID-19 and that engagements with the post would be “significantly limited,” as is standard in such cases.

Washington Secretary of Health calls Trump’s tweet ‘highly irresponsible’

Shirking recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, President Donald Trump returned to the White House on Monday night, after being hospitalized with COVID-19 over the weekend.

CDC recommendations state that a person with confirmed COVID-19 should not be around others until 10 days after symptoms first appeared and that person has gone 24 hours without a fever (and not using medications to keep the fever down). Other symptoms should also be improving.

Trump, however, publicly confirmed his diagnosis early last Friday, or only four days ago. On Monday evening, however, he was seen entering the White House without a mask, into a room with aides visible to reporters, the AP reported.

Though he might not be “entirely out of the woods yet,” according to his doctor, Trump was doing well enough to be discharged.

State health officials are concerned about the president’s statements and actions following his

Trump tweet angers pandemic survivors

SEATTLE (AP) — Dizzy with a soaring fever and unable to breathe, Scott Sedlacek had one thing going for him: He was among the first people to be treated for COVID-19 at Seattle’s Swedish Medical Center, and the doctors and nurses were able to give him plenty of attention.

The 64-year-old recovered after being treated with a bronchial nebulizer in March, but the ensuing months have done little to dull the trauma of his illness. Hearing of President Donald Trump’s advice by Tweet and video on Monday not to fear the disease — as well as the president’s insistence on riding in a motorcade outside Walter Reed Medical Center and returning to the White House while still infectious — enraged him.

“I’m so glad that he appears to be doing well, that he has doctors who can give him experimental drugs that aren’t available to the masses,” Sedlacek said. “For

Carroll Couny passes COVID-19 milestone; health officer concurs with Trump tweet, stresses social responsibility

On the same day President Trump issued a tweet that said, in part, “Don’t be afraid of Covid,” Carroll County passed a milestone with more than 2,000 total cases of COVID-19 reported.

The 22 new cases announced by the Carroll County Health Department brought the county’s overall number to 2,007. That represents nearly 1.2% of Carroll’s population, a rate that is roughly half the national average. Additionally, 147 Carroll countians have died of the disease caused by the novel coronavirus.

Trump, diagnosed with COVID-19 last week, tweeted Monday afternoon, in announcing he would soon be leaving the hospital and returning to the White House, “Feeling really good! Don’t be afraid of Covid. Don’t let it dominate your life.”

County Health Officer Ed Singer concurred with the theme of Trump’s message, while emphasizing that everyone has a “social responsibility” to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

“I would agree with the

On Thursday, President Donald Trump said he’d tested positive for COVID-19. On Friday he was flown to Walter Reed Medical Center out of what the White House called “an abundance of caution.” And on Saturday, the state of the president’s health remained uncertain: White House physician Sean Conley said Trump was “doing very well.” But White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows reportedly said the president’s vitals had been “very concerning.”

During a Saturday press conference, Conley’s team said Trump’s symptoms were resolving and improving and that the president wasn’t on oxygen and wasn’t having difficulty breathing or walking. But the
