OHA advises people to avoid ocean water at Seaside Beach

The water no longer poses a higher-than-normal risk, according to the Oregon Health Authority (OHA).

The health advisory issued for the ocean water at Seaside Beach has been lifted. Results from samples taken by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) showed lower bacteria levels. The water no longer poses a higher-than-normal risk, according to the Oregon Health Authority (OHA).

Oregon health officials are warning people to avoid direct contact with ocean water at Seaside Beach because of higher-than-normal levels of fecal bacteria in the water.
The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) issued a public health advisory Tuesday and said people should avoid ocean water at Seaside Beach until the advisory is lifted.
