Trump claims he’s immune to the disease, vowing to distribute ‘whatever the hell they gave me.’

President Donald Trump wants to kiss his supporters after being diagnosed with coronavirus.

Back on the campaign trail for the first time since last weekend’s COVID-19 treatment at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, in Florida on Monday, Trump addressed his supporters and told them he feels “powerful,” according to NBC News.

“They say I’m immune. I feel so powerful,” Trump said to the crowd at the Orlando Sanford International Airport. “I’ll walk into that audience, I’ll walk in there, kiss everyone in that audience. I’ll kiss the guys and the beautiful women.”

There are no reports stating Trump is immune to the virus that has cost over 215,000

For many of D.C.’s most powerful, Covid-19 guidance still does not apply

If President Trump’s Covid-19 infection was a wake-up call in Washington, not everyone appears to have heard it.

Vice President Mike Pence is continuing public activities, even though he was at the Sept. 26 White House ceremony where Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination to the Supreme Court was announced and where multiple members of the president’s inner circle — and perhaps even the president himself — appear to have been infected. Pence sat directly in front of Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and within a few feet of Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.), both of whom announced on Friday that they had tested positive for the virus.

Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) was tested for Covid-19 but still decided to attend a Republican event in his home state Friday night. By the following day, he announced he had contracted the virus, suggesting he may have spread it further at the Friday gathering. Despite

Covid-19 can afflict the powerful. Yet food workers remain the most vulnerable.

Amid this reality, Tyson Foods recently announced a plan to open medical clinics at several of its U.S. plants. Coupled with the addition of 200 nurses and administrative positions in the company’s health services team, executives claim these plans will help “promote a culture of health” among workers. With the new initiative, Tyson joins a growing list of companies with on-the-job medical providers.

But our nation’s history suggests that worksite clinics may do more harm than good, further harming worker health. The U.S. meat and poultry industry has a long history of obstructing worker access to medical care and workers’ compensation benefits and has failed to provide adequate worksite medical treatment.

At the dawn of the 20th century, as the U.S. economy industrialized, workplace injuries in manufacturing were commonplace. Injured workers did not have a right to the free medical treatment, wage replacement for lost work time or permanent disability

To Your Good Health: Diet is powerful tool to boost heart health

September 29, 2020

| Good Health

I have a strong history of premature heart disease in my family, and I have been having some unpleasant side effects of blood pressure medicine. I decided to try a completely plant-based diet: grains, vegetables, legumes, fruit, seeds and nuts. After about a month on the new diet, my total cholesterol dropped 44 points to 159, and the other numbers went from borderline to normal, as measured by my cardiologist. My blood pressure, which was often high in the mornings — typically 150+/90 — was 118/68 this morning. I’ve only lost about 5 pounds in the past couple of months, and I’m probably still 8 to 10 pounds overweight. I am pleased with the results, but why didn’t any of my doctors recommend this?

Diet is a powerful tool for improving overall health, especially heart health. I believe it is underemphasized by most physicians. Changing from a meat-based diet to … Read More

Dr. Sarah Axtell works in her recently created cooking space at Lakeside Natural Medicine in Shorewood. The cooking space was added when they moved to a new location in March.

She started blogging about food and recipes while in medical school, and kept sharing recipes when she moved to Wisconsin. In 2011, she opened Lakeside Natural Medicine, 3510 N. Oakland Ave., Shorewood.

In March, the clinic moved to a larger space and Axtell fulfilled another dream: her own kitchen to teach healthy cooking and offer workshops. Now, the naturopathic doctor is offering demonstrations and workshops in the space, beginning with a virtual “Food Is Medicine Workshop” on Oct. 17. Cost is $39, and includes a cooking demonstration and recipes. Registration is
