| Health News

A 17-member group of doctors, public health experts, lawmakers and community activists will guide Gov. Charlie Baker’s administration on how to distribute a coronavirus vaccine — once one is available — equitably, safely and efficiently.

There are currently 11 vaccine candidates in the last phase of clinical trials testing for safety and efficacy, according to the New York Times vaccine tracker. Massachusetts’ own Moderna is currently conducting some of its trials at Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. Moderna and Pfizer are leading the pack, most likely to cross the finish line to a viable vaccine first, experts have said.

The advisory group held its first meeting last week and the governor’s office said its work will build on vaccine planning that has been underway since August.

Members are working closely with leaders from the Department of Public Health and adding to the commonwealth’s state-of-the-art Massachusetts Immunization Information System, which

White House gives NJ officials names of fundraiser attendees

October 5, 2020

| Dept Of Health

The White House has provided New Jersey health officials with a list of over 200 people who attended a fundraiser with President Trump in the hours before he announced that he had tested positive for coronavirus, the state’s department of health confirmed.

In a series of tweets posted Sunday, the New Jersey Department of Health described the contract tracing process as “ongoing” and encouraged concerned attendees to “consider waiting” five-to-seven days before seeking a covid test.

“While the risk is low, a negative test earlier than that time cannot definitively rule out that COVID-19 will not develop,” the department wrote in one of the messages.

A later post stated that the department had “reached out to these individuals to make them aware of possible exposure and recommend that they self-monitor for symptoms and quarantine if they were in close contact with the President and his staff.”

The state’s Department of
