EMIT’S CROSSING, Colo., Sept. 30, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Fueled by rage over a nasty break-up, Ashley Bancroft channeled her anger into what has quickly become an online movement of individuals getting into the best shape of their lives with frustration as the motivation. Outrage Nation Fitness is Bancroft’s brainchild, conceived after she realized she was in top physical shape as the result of rage-infused workouts to alleviate feelings of anger.

“It didn’t take long for me to figure out that working out while I was feeling angry was at least three times as effective as a normal workout,” said Bancroft. “My friends and family were shocked and wanted to learn my secret. | Health Center

One hundred and forty health workers from across Georgia – frontline responders to the pandemic – received specialized training to effectively respond to COVID-19 cases while ensuring their own safety and preventing further transmission.

Ambulance doctors, nurses and emergency vehicle drivers learned standard operating procedures for preventing and controlling infection during the transportation of patients with confirmed or suspected COVID-19 cases. The Emergency Situations Coordination and Urgent Assistance Center conducted the trainings within the framework of the Solidarity for Health initiative implemented by WHO and funded by the European Union (EU).

Additionally, a special protocol was developed for mitigating the risk of infection among health workers exposed to COVID-19.

“Patients may not exhibit COVID-19 symptoms, increasing the risk of infection for medical personnel, especially frontline responders. This is why I keep reminding my staff to always use personal protective equipment, so that medical personnel do not further the spread of

TOKYO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–LUCA Science (Tokyo, Japan), a biotechnology company pioneering a novel class of mitochondrial therapeutics, announced today that it will collaborate with the University of Oxford’s Nuffield Department of Women’s & Reproductive Health, in joint research utilising LUCA Science’s proprietary drug delivery platform technology for the treatment of IUGR.

This collaboration was instigated by Dr Yosuke Matsumiya, the UK project director for LUCA Science, who will be coordinating the research with the University of Oxford.

About the Joint Research

The placenta is a unique organ across which nutrients are transferred from mother to baby. Abnormal placental function causes significant problems in pregnancy, including IUGR.

IUGR affects over 10 million babies worldwide/year with 200,000 deaths related to IUGR and survivors (often delivered prematurely) face not only the sequelae of preterm birth but also increased long-term risks of disease (metabolic & cardiac). The largest global causes of IUGR are malnutrition

Tapping the Power of Data to Improve Community Health | National News

September 28, 2020

| Health Issues

Implementing smart strategies to improve community health requires understanding and targeting all of the social determinants affecting it, from economic and educational opportunity to housing and food security. That requires effective use of data, both to figure out precisely what the risks are and to create targeted interventions that will actually work.

That was the key message emerging from “Assessing the Power of Data to Track Community Health,” a webinar hosted by U.S. News & World Report as part of the virtual Community Health Leadership Forum that began last week. A panel of experts demonstrated the potential of data to identify risks in a given community – around food and housing, for example – and to point the way to effective responses.

Using data to drive decisions allows us to “invest thoughtfully – in the right places, in the right ways – to make real impact for people,” said Trenor

Gov. Ned Lamont and transportation officials gathered Monday in Bridgeport to celebrate the launch of the first two battery-electric mass transit buses in the state.

The Greater Bridgeport Transit Authority buses are each expected to reduce gasoline consumption by 23,000 gallons a year and are capable of running 150 miles between charges, according to Doug Holcomb, CEO of the Greater Bridgeport Transit Authority.

Holcomb said the buses, which were built in South Carolina, fulfill the transit authority’s mission to reduce traffic, fuel consumption and air pollution from emissions.

“This is the first in what we expect to be a steady stream of electric buses,” Holcomb said.

Other cities around the state could also be following suit.

State Department of Transportation Deputy Commissioner Garrett Eucalitto said the state’s goal is to get “zero pipe emissions” buses running in Hartford and New Haven and that the state recently received a federal
