Silver Spring, MD — From the full-service restaurants to the on-campus fitness and aquatic center, there are so many amenities that attract Maryland retirees to Riderwood, an Erickson Living managed senior living community in Silver Spring, Maryland. But perhaps one of the biggest selling points of the Silver Spring, Maryland, retirement community is the medical center, conveniently located right on campus, just a short indoor walk from residents’ own front doors.

The medical center is staffed with physicians who have dedicated their lives to senior health and who are available for same-day appointments. All appointments are scheduled for 30 minutes, giving doctors a chance to really get to know their patients. The result is an integrated approach to healthcare that leads to optimal outcomes for residents.

Dr. Lynne Diggs, director of Riderwood’s

7:55 a.m.

In lieu of a formal debate, President Donald Trump has agreed to answer voters’ questions during a town hall program sponsored by NBC News on Thursday night.

The event will be held outdoors at the Perez Art Museum in Miami.

NBC News says it has a statement from National Institutes of Health clinical director Dr. Clifford Lane indicating he and White House coronavirus task force member Dr. Anthony Fauci have reviewed Trump’s medical data and concluded with a “high degree of confidence” the president is “not shedding infectious virus.”

Trump tested positive for the coronavirus Oct. 2. He spent three days at the Walter Reed military hospital. He resumed public appearances over the weekend and resumed campaign travel Monday.

A formal matchup between the Republican president and Democrat Joe Biden that was scheduled for Thursday in Miami by the nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debate was canceled. The commission

NBC Says Trump Will Hold Town Hall Meeting Thursday, Competing Against Biden

October 14, 2020

President Trump may not be debating Joseph R. Biden Jr. on the same stage on Thursday night as originally planned. But the two candidates will still face off head-to-head.

NBC News confirmed on Wednesday that it would broadcast a prime-time town-hall-style event with Mr. Trump from Miami on Thursday at 8 p.m. Eastern, with the president fielding questions from Florida voters.

The event will directly overlap with an already-scheduled ABC televised town-hall meeting with Mr. Biden in Philadelphia, which will begin at the same time.

Mr. Biden’s town hall has been on the books since last week, after Mr. Trump, who had recently contracted the coronavirus, rejected plans to convert the second formal presidential debate into a virtual matchup; the debate was eventually canceled.

The NBC event, to be moderated by the “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, had been contingent on the Trump campaign providing independent proof that the president

Oak Crest: Key to Good Health Is Just Down the Hall

Parkville, Maryland–One of the great paradoxes of American medical care is that although it is amongst the best health care in the world, a limited number of doctors means they are not always available at the time that you need them.

According to the most recent survey of Physician Appointment Wait Times and Medicare and Medicaid Acceptance Rates, by Merritt Hawkins, it takes an average of 24 days to schedule a first-time appointment with a physician, a 30 percent increase from 2014, when the average wait time was 18.5 days.

For residents of Oak Crest, an Erickson Living-managed community located in Parkville, Maryland, having a physician-staffed medical center just a few steps from their front door makes accessing health care more convenient than ever, with same-day appointments available as needed.

“One of the benefits of having a medical center on-site is the timeliness of response,” said Megan Hawthorne Practice

Tukwila’s Spice Bridge Food Hall helps women business owners turn their restaurant dreams into reality

Light streams through the windows at the new Spice Bridge Food Hall in Tukwila, further illuminating the butter-yellow walls. The air is filled with the scent of grilled chicken kebabs and coffee, but perhaps the best part is the sound of laughter from women chatting.

Kara Martin, program director for the Food Innovation Network (FIN), gestures to the ceiling, remarking on the need to get some sound baffles, but for now the symphony of laughter is the welcome sound of success.

Spice Bridge is the home of FIN’s Food Business Incubator, a program that helps provide women immigrants and refugees in South King County with everything from permit assistance and marketing guidance to rent subsidies and mentoring.

Fact-checking Trump’s town hall health care claims

September 27, 2020

| Health Facts

President Trump was in the spotlight Tuesday night for a rare town hall in Philadelphia with undecided voters, where he fielded questions on topics including the coronavirus pandemic and health care, which have been on the minds of many voters.

He made a variety of claims about the health care system, health care proposals and the scientific realities of COVID-19. Here are some of the highlights, as well as fact checking and context for his statements.

Mr. Trump repeated a claim Tuesday night he has made in the past — that COVID-19 is “probably going to go away now a lot faster because of the vaccine” but “would go away without the vaccine.”

When ABC News moderator George Stephanopoulos asked the president to clarify if he believes the virus will go away without a vaccine, Mr. Trump responded, “Sure, over a period of time.”

Mr. Trump said in February
