LAKE FOREST, IL — The History Center of Lake Forest-Lake Bluff is holding its first-ever photo contest to benefit the historical society’s exhibits, programs and educational initiatives.
Participants have until Oct. 15 to submit photos in up three different categories — those that depict a sense of self, a sense of place or a sense of community.
Winners will be selected in each category and four age groups: 8-14, 15-19, 20-24 and over 65. Each will have their photographs displayed in a virtual gallery on the history center’s website and, public health conditions permitting, in a gallery at its 509 E. Deerpath Road museum.
Judges include professional photographers Catlin Saville Collins, Ana Miyares and Kerri Sherman, as well as Cecilia Lanyon, co-owner of The Gallery restaurant in Lake Forest and Daria McMeans, a lecturer in art in Lake Forest College and art teacher at Evanston Township High School.
