Oct. 11 (UPI) — New COVID-19 cases in the United States continued to rise at their highest rates since August amid surges in states like Montana.

The Johns Hopkins University global tracker reported 54,639 new cases and 618 deaths on Saturday, the fourth consecutive day with more than 50,000 deaths, a level of daily increase not seen since August.

Since the first reported case in the country on Jan. 21, the United States has reported world-leading totals of 7,745,951 cases and 214,641 deaths, according to Johns Hopkins data.

Johns Hopkins data showed that Montana has reported 5,046 COVID-19 cases from Sept. 30 through Oct. 10 after recording just 5,017 cases in the 150 days between its first reported case on March 13 and Aug. 10.

| Dept Of Health

Dallas County reported 460 more confirmed coronavirus cases Saturday, including 455 which the county considers new and five from previous months. One new COVID-19 death was also reported.

Labs either report coronavirus cases directly to the county health department or to the state health department, which then relays the information to individual counties. Of cases reported Saturday, Dallas County health officials said 167 came from the state’s reporting system, including one from March, four from September and 162 from October. The remaining 293 cases were reported directly to the county health department.

The latest victim was a woman in her 80s who lived in a long-term care facility in Richardson. She died at the facility and did not have any underlying health conditions.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins urged people to continue following public health precautions including social distancing and masking wearing, citing an increase in the county’s hospitalizations.

U.S. adds more than 50,000 COVID-19 cases for 3rd time in a week; deaths rise

October 8, 2020

| Health Article

Oct. 8 (UPI) — For the third time in the past week, the United States has added more than 50,000 new COVID-19 cases — a level that was surpassed only three times during the entire month of September.

There were about 50,300 new cases nationally on Tuesday, according to updated data from Johns Hopkins University. There were also more than 900 new deaths, the most in a week.

There were just three days in September that added more than 50,000 cases — and a steady downward trajectory in new cases since mid-July now appears to have leveled off, and may even now be on the incline, Johns Hopkins data illustrates.

Since the start of the outbreak, there have been 7.56 million U.S. cases and 212,100 deaths, the data shows.

Thursday, Health and Human Services Secretary Alex Azar said an experimental antibody treatment could be widely available soon. It’s the same

LPL Financial has struck a deal with Paychex to offer its affiliated independent advisors access to health care and other employee-related services.

With Paychex joining LPL’s Vendor Affinity Program, advisors can outsource payroll and a variety of benefits services with no minimum employee requirements, the independent broker-dealer said Thursday. Plus, they can roll out these benefits to their staff during the 2021 enrollment period, it added.

Advisors coming on board LPL’s Strategic Wealth Services platform, which was launched two months ago to support wirehouse and other employee advisors as they become independent business owners, also can tap into these human resources and benefits management services.

“Our advisors have told us they need a cost-effective healthcare solution, and they want to reduce the risk and administrative burdens of healthcare, payroll and HR. We have listened,” said Andy Kalbaugh, head of National Sales and
