Pregnant Tiffiny Hall is joined by her RIPPED funnyman husband Ed Kavalee on Men’s Health

‘Queen of fitness’ Tiffiny Hall and her comedian husband Ed Kavalee have graced the covers of Women’s Health and Men’s Health respectively, showing off their incredible physiques as they prepare to welcome their second child.

Tiffiny, 37, was bronzed and glowing as the first ever pregnant woman to appear on the cover of the popular health magazine this month, sporting her 26-week baby bump.

But all eyes were on her ‘secretly buff’ partner Ed, 42, who was shirtless and showing off every inch of his hard work in the gym in the May issue.

‘He’s so ripped,’ she said in an interview with Who Magazine in 2019.

‘He doesn’t show it off but he is shredded and he is strong. He’s got really big muscles, but he just won’t show it off! He’s like, “Oh I’m not that guy,” and I’m like, “Be that guy”,’ she said.

In a radio interview a week later Ed praised Tiffiny’s fitness programs as the reason he has been able to bulk up over the course of their six-year marriage.

‘My wife has an unbelievable fitness website TIFFXO.com… that’s the truth,’ he said at the time.

‘She’s always on about what people can do and how people feel, and that’s always influenced me. I’m like, “Yeah, you’re right. I’m strong. And I love it,”‘ he said.

Ed and Tiffiny don’t work out together, he claims, due to a tendency to try and one-up each other.

‘I refuse to work out with her because I don’t want to hear it. Tiff’s a great trainer and she does a great job, but she’s desperate to make me say, “I can’t do that,”‘ he said.

‘And I’m desperate not to give her the satisfaction. It’s quite ridiculous.’

Ed’s favourite gym workout

Squats (4 x 12,10,8,6 reps)

Barbell overhead press (4×8)

Lat Pulldown (4×12)

Preacher bar curls (4×10)

Seated rows (3×12)

Lateral raise (4×12)

Rear delt fly (4×12)

He does however eat his wife’s food from her TXO Life health and fitness program, but is quick to point out that he’s the one who cooks it.

‘She takes if off me and takes a photograph with it and then eats it. I cook it. I need to be very clear on this.’

Ed has also been sober since he was 24 – the same year he started to take the gym ‘seriously’ – which he doesn’t see as a coincidence.

A typical session will see him do squats, barbell overhead presses, lat pulldowns, preacher bar curls, seated rows, lateral raises and rear delt flies.

Tiffiny, a former trainer on The Biggest Loser, offers a variety of 30-minute workouts, meal plans and mindset exercises on TIFFXO.

The comedian usually wears loose-fitting clothes on TV, making it difficult to tell just how toned and muscular he is.

For Tiffiny, she will be taking her time recovering from her second birth despite feeling pressure from the fitness community to ‘bounce back’ right away.

‘As much as there’s pressure after you have the baby to “bounce back”, you don’t have to have that toxic positivity [mindset] all the time where you’re just loving every minute… Just take that pressure off, bounce forward. Prioritise your own self-care,’ she said.

In 2019 Tiffiny shared her day on a plate which starts with a cafe-inspired breakfast of charred greens made with asparagus, broccolini, feta and a boiled egg containing just the right amount of protein and vitamins to keep her energised until lunch.

Then for lunch it’s an easy chicken taco recipe she invented for all her TIFFXO program followers so she – and they – could enjoy a healthier take on traditional Mexican food.

What is Tiff’s day on a plate?

‘Deliciously light yet filling, these zesty tacos are a family favourite. They’re also great for entertaining – just add a jug of sangria,’ Tiffiny said.

As a snack throughout the day the dedicated black belt in Taekwondo grills pineapple skewers on the barbecue, which can also double as a dessert after dinner.

Adding a small amount of vanilla yoghurt to a bowl offers a much-needed calcium boost and makes for the perfect pineapple topping.

For a regular dinner at home with her son Arnold and Ed, Tiffiny whips up a steak sandwich salad bowl as a modern twist on the pub classic.

‘Made with rump steak, cherry tomatoes, button mushroom and torn sourdough bread, my Steak Sandwich Salad Bowl is a nutritious and tasty way to end a busy and active day,’ she said.
