A new mental health resource and research center is coming to Oconomowoc.

The Ladish Co. Foundation Center will be on the campus of Rogers Behavioral Health, 34700 Valley Road, and will be used by community members, families and others supporting patients.

“This is an incredible step in Rogers’ history of providing highly effective mental health and addiction treatment for those who are struggling, the people that love them, and the communities we live in,” said Pat Hammer, Rogers president and CEO.

The center is expected to open in summer 2021 and will include an array of hospitality and spiritual care services, as well as the Rogers Behavioral Health Foundation and the Rogers Research Center.

The center was made possible by a $2 million donation from the Ladish Co. Foundation as well as a collaborative partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities Eastern Wisconsin, according to a news release.

“It takes courage and strength for our patients and families to seek treatment for mental illness and addiction,” Hammer said. “Along with our valued partners, we are humbled to support them every step of the way.”

The news release said the Ladish Center will provide a central hub for patients and families to participate in educational and supportive programs.

“Rogers offers support groups, presentations on mental health, and training for behavioral health professionals and community members, and this center will house all of those programs,” the release stated.

Wayne Larsen, a retired company executive and longstanding Ladish Co. Foundation trustee, said Rogers comprises dedicated and skilled individuals making critical positive contributions within the community.

“What they do on a daily basis for people seeking mental health and addiction services is truly important,” Larsen said. “We are deeply honored to provide our support in filling a need for such an impressive organization.”

Within the Ladish Center will be the Ronald McDonald Family Room, which will be one of the first family-room programs located within a behavioral health facility.

“Having family members nearby while supporting a patient receiving treatment has proven to have a positive impact on their recovery,” said Ann Petrie, president and CEO of RMHC Eastern Wisconsin. “We are proud to partner with Rogers to deliver family-centered, compassionate care to those facing mental health challenges.”

Rogers said the family room will enable families to experience restorative time for themselves without having to step too far away from their child while in treatment. RMHC Eastern WI will continue to welcome and provide overnight accommodations for Rogers families who are eligible to stay at the Ronald McDonald House in Wauwatosa.
