Free flu vaccines will be available to members of the El Paso community this flu season.
The City of El Paso Fire Department and Department of Public Health are partnering with several agencies to launch the “Be PowerFlu” prevention campaign.
The campaign aims to reduce cases of the flu and prevent serious related illnesses during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“We know that similar to COVID-19, the flu can be serious and even deadly for those with underlying medical conditions,” Dr. Hector Ocaranza, City-County Health Authority, said. “What we don’t know is how the flu and COVID will attack the body if they are contracted together during this flu season, so we’re urging the community to be proactive by getting the flu vaccine and continue practicing social distancing, wearing a face cover, and practicing healthy hygiene.”
Free flu shots will be available for community members four years old and older.
Visit bepowerflu.com, click on the patient questionnaire button to print and fill out the questionnaire which must be turned in when getting your flu shot. No appointments are necessary.
The following sites will be open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. beginning Oct. 5:
- City Eastside Site at 301 George Perry Blvd.
- City Westside Site at 7400 High Ridge Dr.
