Dr. Brooke Palkie Awarded Health Information Management Fellowship Distinction

Charter Oak State College (http://www.CharterOak.edu), Connecticut’s public online college, has announced that Brooke Palkie, EdD, RHIA, FAHIMA; Chair of the College’s Health Science and Technology Department and Program Director of Charter Oak’s M.S. in Health Care Administration and M.S. in Health Informatics, (http://www.CharterOak.edu/masters), has earned lifetime recognition as a Fellow of the American Health Information Management Association.

Charter Oak State College (http://www.CharterOak.edu), Connecticut’s public online college, has announced that Brooke Palkie, EdD, RHIA, FAHIMA; Chair of the College’s Health Science and Technology Department and Program Director of Charter Oak’s M.S. in Health Care Administration and M.S. in Health Informatics, (http://www.CharterOak.edu/masters), has earned lifetime recognition as a Fellow of the American Health Information Management Association.

Dr. Palkie says of her honor, “I’m grateful for this honor and also to work within an industry with others who are so dedicated to improving the outcomes of patients. This acknowledgment is very meaningful to me, particularly in a year when COVID- 19 has affected so many lives and has shone a spotlight on the critical importance of an educated Health Care workforce in all of its facets. My ongoing work to educate future leaders in the Administration and Informatics sectors of the Health Care field is of utmost importance to me and I look forward to continuing my work at Charter Oak State College, with AHIMA and within the field.”

The Fellowship program recognizes those AHIMA members who are considered to have made significant contributions within the field of Health Information Management. Individuals who receive the lifetime Fellowship distinction may use the FAHIMA (Fellow of the American Health Information Management Association) designation and their names are recorded in the AHIMA Registry of Fellows.

Dr. Palkie is a member of AHIMA, the Council for Excellence in Education (CEE) – Graduate Resource Alliance (GRA) and the Health Information Management System’s Society (HIMSS).
